Lviv

Lviv is located in western Ukraine, around 70 kilometers from the Polish border, and serves as a cultural and logistical gateway between Eastern and Central Europe. Today, Lviv faces pressing urban challenges, including the integration of displaced populations, rebuilding war-damaged infrastructure, and ensuring social and environmental resilience. Limited resources and the need for inclusive, trauma-informed spaces further complicate long-term planning. To address these issues, the city has launched the Integrated Development Plan Lviv 2030, which promotes sustainable growth, mobility, and heritage-sensitive regeneration. Furthermore, projects like the Unbroken Ecosystem and Unbroken Mothers-Healing Space offer innovative, human-centered solutions on a district and building level scale by transforming urban spaces into networks of care, rehabilitation, and dignified housing for war-affected residents.
